Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Do you guarantee your product?

A: Yes. Your finished product will be an exact reflection of your submitted master. If discdupers.com does your mastering, you will be sent a copy of the mastered CD to evaluate. You will then return an approval form to us. If there is a problem on the finished product that is not present on the submitted master or evaluated mastered CD, the problem will be fixed immediately, at no expense to you.

Q: How long will it take to get my CDs?

A: It depends on the size of your order and if a sample CD is requested. Small order turnaround can be as short as five days from the time we receive your CD master and insert provisions (Photo, data text, etc...). Larger orders usually take two to three weeks. NOTE: Having color on the CD face (Top Surface of CD) usually increases turnaround time by about a week.

Q: Is there an extra charge to set up my artwork for my CDs?

A: No. All art setup fees are included in the price.

Q: What do I need to provide for the art department?

A: Here is a list of things needed for the art department to design your CD inserts:

  • Photographs of whatever you want on the CD inserts in hard copy form for the art department to scan, or Digital files on CDR, Zip, or compressed files emailed to us. Please understand that your digital photographs need to be a minimum of 300dpi for the inserts to come out satisfactory. 600dpi is preferred. File formats accepted are PhotoShop, JPEG, BMP, EPS, and/or TIFF.
  • Titles, credits, song list, etc... in digital document format (Microsoft Word, AppleWorks, notepad, or word pad). NOTE: The documents can reside on the same disc as the photographs. If you are sending hard copies of your photograph, you can put your text documents on floppy disc. A printable product submission form can be viewed & printed HERE that can help you to get organized and a track sheet can be viewed & printed HERE.
  • A rough layout or description of how you would like your CD & inserts to look.
  • Any special instructions you may want on your CD & inserts.

Q: Do I need a barcode?

A: Some retail merchants require a barcode to sell your CD in their store. If you plan on selling your CD in retail stores, you need a UPC barcode.

Q: Can I design My own CD covers & backs?

A: Yes. By using our PhotoShop Templates you or your own art designer can create your CD & inserts. If you want a barcode, a 1"x1" space must be left somewhere on the tray (back) insert. The "Compact Disc Digital Audio" logo MUST be seen clearly on the disc.

Q: Can I get a sample of my finished product before production begins?

A: Yes. Upon requesting a sample of what will be your finished product, discdupers.com will send you a copy free of charge via USPS ground. This does delay turnaround time. We can deliver your sample next day or 2 day for an additional fee to shorten the delay.
